Common Recovery Questions
Most aftercare concerns are a normal part of the healing process. Here are some practical tips to help you manage the most common recovery questions following your treatment.
I'm bruised. What can I do?
Bruising is a common side effect and usually fades within 7–14 days. During the first 24 hours, avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol and excessive heat. After 24 hours, a cool compress may help reduce discomfort. Bruising can usually be covered with makeup after 12 hours if the skin is intact.
I'm swollen. How can I reduce it?
Swelling is usually most noticeable during the first 24–48 hours. Sleep with your head slightly elevated, stay well hydrated and avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol and excessive heat during the first day. Swelling should gradually improve over the following few days.
I can feel a lump. What should I do?
Small lumps or areas of firmness are common while injectable treatments settle. Avoid pressing or massaging the area unless you have been specifically advised to do so. Give the treatment time to integrate naturally. If the area becomes increasingly painful, hot or red, please contact the clinic.
My results don't look right yet.
Try not to judge your results immediately after treatment. Swelling can temporarily affect the appearance, making one side look different from the other or the treated area appear fuller than expected. Most injectable treatments continue to settle over the following days or weeks before the final result is seen.
